Process station for more efficient set-up and testing on an eccentric press

Unclear workflows and scattered tools are a major obstacle to efficient processes in many production environments. A typical example: the set-up and testing process on an eccentric press.

Our customer stand faced the following challenges:

  • Large tools were distributed throughout the hall.
  • Heavy tools such as clamping claws and calipers were often difficult to find.
  • Test equipment was missing on site, causing unnecessary interruptions in the workflow.

The solution: a central process station

By setting up a process station, we were able to ensure clarity and efficiency.
The station was designed in such a way that all tools and aids for the set-up and testing process are clearly structured and available in one place:

  • Centralisation:
Large tools and heavy clamping claws were organised on a sturdy trolley.
  • Visible order:
Smaller tools such as calipers or edge deburrers for checking and reworking are neatly organised in a foam shadow board.
  • Uniform standards:
The process station follows clear rules in order to maintain the optimised state in the long term.

The customer benefits: Efficiency and clarity

The implementation brought tangible benefits for the customer:

  • Shorter distances:
All aids and tools are centrally available, which minimises time losses.
    searching and transport.
  • Simplified processes:
The clear structure of the process station significantly reduces the complexity of the set-up process.
  • Direct availability of test equipment:
Quality control tools are available exactly where they are needed, making post-processing faster and more efficient.

Conclusion: Order as the basis for efficiency

The introduction of a process island shows how even complex processes in the production environment can be
can be optimised. With clear standards and a well thought-out organisation, walking distances can be reduced, set-up times shortened and the overall process quality increased.
