Ergonomics in process optimisation - designing efficient workflows

´Be strict with the process, but gentle with the employees’
(Philosophy of Toyota Motors)

In this article, we take a look at the role of ergonomics in process optimisation and how to create more efficient and productive workflows.

⚙️ Analysing the processes: This involves taking a close look at existing processes. The focus here is on recognising all types of waste.

⚙️ Tools: Methods such as value stream mapping help to visualise the flow of materials and information and identify bottlenecks.

⚙️ Implementation of improvements: Based on the findings from the analysis, measures for process improvement are repeatedly (iteratively) developed and implemented (strictly!).

⚙️ Ergonomics: People take centre stage. An often overlooked but crucial aspect of process optimisation is ergonomics. Ergonomic principles aim to design the working environment in such a way that it meets the needs of employees (gently!).

🎯 The result: positive effects on efficiency and productivity!
